"Protecting God's Children" is a workshop for parish staff and volunteers.  Its purpose is to heighten our awareness around the topic of sexual abuse with the aim of empowering participants to create safe environments for all of our children.  This program is mandated by the Archdiocese for clergy, staff, and volunteers who have contact with children who are under the age of 18.

The training session is 3 1/2 hours in length and is presented by a team of facilitators who have undergone intensive training by VIRTUS: The National Catholic Risk Retention Group.  Discussion is invited, and there is a break for refreshments.

As of September 1, no person who has not undergone this training will be eligible to volunteer in any capacity where there is contact with children.

Notification has been sent out to all parishioners to whom the mandate applies.  Other parishioners are also welcome to attend the workshops.
