Effective Friday, June 27, 2008 Rev. Robert J. Sullivan resigned his position of Pastor of St. Thecla Parish to continue to address personal, spiritual and health issues. Please keep Father Sullivan in your prayers as he continues to pray for our parish. Rev. Joseph S. McCarthy, who has been with us as temporary administrator, has been named Pastor of St. Thecla Parish. We welcome him and congratulate him on his new assignment.
We are sad to announce that Mrs. Mary Doller, our Religious Education Director, has decided to retire effective September 1, 2008. Mary has been the director since 2001 and was a volunteer for many years prior to taking that position. We thank her for all her years of dedicated service and wish her well as she begins a new chapter in her life. Mary will still be around the parish, though! So please send your congratulations to her when you see her. We hope to have a little celebration for Mary in the Fall when everyone is back from summer activities. GOOD LUCK Mary!!
We are very lucky to already have on staff our new Religious Education Director, Mr. Howard League. As many of you know, Howard has assisted Mary in the program since 2006. He organized and currently works with our Children’s Liturgy program and with our Confirmation candidates on their community service programs. Howard has also been an elementary school teacher in Pembroke and a lector and E.M. in our parish. He is currently enrolled in the Archdiocesan Deaconate Program, studying to become a Deacon. Congratulations and GOOD LUCK to both Mary and Howard!
